Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 9th message titled Ready: Understanding Hope taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Now Paul turns his attention to making sure that these believers are ready for the return of Jesus Christ, beginning with solidifying their understanding the hope we have in Christ’s return.
8: Loving
Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 8th message titled Loving taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12. Paul continues to flesh out his earlier prayer by now focusing on the love he wanted these believers to have - not just for each other but ultimately for those who do not yet follow Jesus.
7: Sanctified
Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 7th message titled Sanctified taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8. If the theme from the prior text was Paul’s desire to see the believers in Thessalonica established in their faith, the theme in this text is his desire to see them sanctified. Paul exhorted them to live holy lives, especially in regards to sexual relations.
6: Established
Merlin Miller returns to the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 6th message titled Established taken from 1 Thessalonians 3:1-13. Paul returns to the reason for his writing - to make sure of & acknowledge that these new Thessalonians believers were established in the faith. This text also serves as a transition from the opening remarks to the rest of the letter.
Living Hope
It’s Resurrection Sunday, and to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Merlin Miller preaches from 1 Peter 1:3-5. In one long sentence, Peter powerfully declares the truth of the resurrection of Jesus and what that means for us. Because of God’s power, we have a living hope!

In this text Paul returns to his earlier giving of thanks for the Thessalonians and their reception of the Gospel, and he communicates his sincere desire to come see them and how he sees them in the Lord.
